Club ASL

Club ASL brings awareness about the deaf culture while teaching American Sign Language to the school’s community. Students will learn different signs such as the Letters of the Alphabet, colors, feelings, foods, simple phrases and more.

art club

We are calling all J.O. Wilson artists in grades 1-5 to join our weekly art club! During this time, artists will have the opportunity to choose from a selection of mediums for inspiration, work on any projects students have started outside of school, and contribute to our school's Winter Wonderland stage set up! All are welcome. Our first meeting begins on Monday, October 23rd in the J.O. Wilson Art Studio, Room 222.

Students must be picked up at the front of the school by 4:30. Students in aftercare will be escorted back to their respective classroom.

Drama Club

The Cardinal Drama Players

The mission of the Cardinal Players is to educate students about the theatrical arts by engaging them in opportunities to view and attend varied performances and ultimately present a signature spring musical to the J.O. Community. The club strives to foster an appreciation of all forms of performing arts while empowering students through identifying and honing talents.

Step team

The JOW Step Team

Students on the JOW Step Team will learn Step Dance as a form of movement to showcase our teams' individual style and showing its unity. Students will learn a mixture of patterns, spoken word, chants, footsteps, dance moves, and hand claps as we turn our bodies into instruments to create different sounds and rhythms.

Cardinal Majorettes

The Cardinal Majorette Dance Team will provide students with the opportunity to learn competitive and performance dance styles. The club will promote school spirit, morals, engagement, and confidence in our scholars.

girls on the run

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is aimed to inspire our girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions, while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Coaches will work with the girls and use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills in every girl while encouraging them to build healthy habits for life.

The Fall 2023 season is from September 11 - November 19 (5K date). Register here.

The woth expression

Students will be exposed to skills in stage movement, modern, and other genres of dance. Students will also demonstrate concentration and physical control in performing movement for artistic expression.

Students will participate in multiple fitness classes to help with maintaining a healthy life.

Gardening Club

Students will learn proper seed spacing for planting in the garden. Students will learn that plants need water just like people and animals need water. They will explore dry and wet soil and be able to describe the difference between them. Students will work in the classroom and in the school garden.

Gamers unite

Gamers Unite is a safe space for gamers to come relax, collaborate, and build community with peers after the school day for some fun through video games. Gaming promotes speedy response times and stress relief while encouraging teamwork. Gaming weekly will also improve problem-solving skills coordination and foster hand-to-eye coordination, foster a greater multitasking ability, and will improve more accurate decision-making skills.

Jet Setters

Students will learn about national and international cities and how students will design excursion experiences and participate in travel.
