BEFORE & AFTER CARE

Here at J.O. Wilson, we offer one of the largest after-school programs in the city. In order to be able to offer after-school programming to over 300 students, we partner with external organizations to provide our families with programming options. During the 2026-27 school year, Polite Piggy's will provide after-school programming to students in grades PK3, PK4, Kindergarten and 1st grade. Future Stars will provide aftercare for 2nd and 3rd graders. The DCPS After-School Program supports and provides after-school programing to students in the 4th and 5th grades. If you have students in multiple grades, you may need to register for different programs for each child.

**Before you can register for after-school programming, you have to complete enrollment for the upcoming school year. Enrollment forms can be submitted electronically at https://enrolldcps.dc.gov/node/71. Please email Ms. Talisa Stephenson, at jowilsonesenroll@k12.dc.gov if you need help completing the electronic enrollment packet or if you cannot access the electronic submission process.**

Families interested in the limited number of spots provided in beforecare should reach out directly to Ms. Stephenson.

Registration for Polite Piggy's is open for rising PreK3 through 1st grade students on a first come, first serve basis. Click here to register. Registration for School Year 2026-2027 closes 8/7/26 at 11:59 pm and will be on a waitlist basis after that. 

Future stars-School PROGRAM for 2nd and 3rd grades

J.O. Wilson is excited to partner with The Future Stars to provide high-quality aftercare programming for our rising 2nd and 3rd grade Cardinals. The program is designed to support the whole child through creativity, confidence-building, homework support, movement, social-emotional learning, and hands-on activities in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Families can feel confident knowing their children will be engaged, supported, and cared for beyond the school day.

DCPS OUT OF SCHOOL TIME (OSTP) After-School Program for 4th and 5th grades

At the end of the school day, the DCPS Out of School Time Programs (OSTP) offer students academic support, a free snack or supper, and a range of enrichment activities. These activities are provided by DCPS staff and partner organizations.

Registration is now open for rising 4th and 5th grade students on a first come, first serve basis. Register online at most.dc.gov.
