J.O. Wilson Elementary School is a District of Columbia Public Schools elementary school. We serve approximately 450 scholars in pre-K3 through 5th grade in a culturally diverse community and climate. We are located in the vibrant H Street/NOMA neighborhood in northeast Washington, D.C.

At J.O. Wilson Elementary School we are S.O.A.R.ing to success every day in every way. With a diverse population of students, we embed our mantra of Safety, Ownership, Acceptance, and Respect (S.O.A.R.) into all aspects of our school environment. The guiding principles of S.O.A.R. have advanced our school culture in a positive and nurturing way as a strong sense of joy, pride and love exists from student to student, staff to student, and staff to staff as we continue to S.O.A.R. to new heights.

We commit to using best practices in developing programs that will ensure the intellectual, emotional and physical well-being of our students. We strive to provide an environment that promotes academic excellence and produces citizens who are prepared to meet the demands of higher education and life. We employ a challenging, innovative, and student-focused curriculum and we believe in supporting our teachers in their own continued professional development so that every teacher can continue to inspire their students.
